Moms and Monsters…
Posted: 10 May 2009

Hello again everyone, and happy Mothers Day. As seen in my last post, every now and then I will be adding pictures of the Ducati’s I have had; above is my my fully kitted Monster S4Rs. I chose the Monster for this blog because it is one of the best selling motorcycles of all time. Since the early 90’s Ducati has been building Monsters; they have built more Monsters than any other model they have produced. It is simply is one of the best bikes ever designed; many times imitated but never surpassed. Until now!
As an early release 2009 model Ducati debuted the Monster 696 in 2008. As with the previous Monster line the “less-is-more” philosophy continues. An almost perfect blend of sport performance, stunning looks and real world ergonomics. The new design was an instant success and we ran out of 696’s to sell. With a seat height of just over 30 inches, tipping the scales at 355 pounds and around 80 horses from its 90 degree two-valve air cooled engine, this bike is serious in its performance and rideability.
The Monster 696’s low seat, narrow waist and natural reach to the handle bar make it the perfect bike for so many people. I have heard many women comment that it seems to be a tall mans world when it comes to finding a bike that fits their needs. Although I personally belive almost any woman can ride almost any bike [with the proper training and experience], a first time rider or rider of small stature can interface with the Ducati M696 like no other bike. Design blends seamlessly with performance to create a confidence inspiring motorcycle any rider can enjoy. We have sold many M696’s to women of all shapes and sizes, all of them have had the same thrilling experience and none have ever said the bike did not suit their needs. Right Deb?
The motor sports world is growing fast for women. There are women-specific track days and schools; like the ones found at Femmoto and there are a growing number of motorcycle products specifically designed for women. We can even custom fit your new Ducati Monster 696 for you if needed. So why not come in to our shop some time and see just how much is available for everyone and anyone who has a passion for Ducati and motorcycles.
