The Big Bang 2007 went off on Saturday without a hitch. The Ducati world has so much to celebrate this year, and you could feel it in the night’s electric energy. The weather outside may have been chilly, but there was plenty of heat in the shop with Casey Stoner’s jaw-dropping Moto GP season recap and the 848 Superbike unveiling. The 2008 Ducati Apparel was shown off by beautiful models in the form of a world-class, high-energy fashion show. The highlight of the night – at least for three individuals – was the giveaway of a $250, $500 and $1000 SLMS gift certificate. Thanks to everyone who made the third annual SLMS Ducati Fashion show the best one ever! Photos coming soon!

As if the MotoGP Victory, the 848 Superbike unveiling, and the 2008 Ducati Apparel Fashion Show weren’t enough reasons to celebrate, here’s one more. Salt Lake Motorsports has pledged a monetary donation, in addition to all of the night’s raffle money, to the Utah-based The Christmas Box International. The Christmas Box is a charity that partners with local, national and international communities to prevent child abuse and improve the quality of life for children who have been abused or neglected. We’re happy to do our part in helping the children of Utah, especially during this special time of year. We’ll be raffling off some great prizes, so RSVP today while space is still available.

21 Year Old Ducati MotoGP Team rider Casey Stoner has come a long way since winning the first Grand Prix of the season in March. Nine wins, four podium finishes and five pole positions later, Stoner secured Ducati’s first MotoGP World Championship in Japan on September 23rd. It was Stoner’s worst result of the season in rainy Japan, with a 6th place finish. Stoner just needed to finish ahead of Valentino Rossi to achieve an unbeatable score. He completed the task as Rossi slowed down with tire problems, ultimately finishing thirteenth. This makes an 83 point gap between the two riders. With 25 points for a win and just 3 races left in the season, Stoner has clinched the title! To top it off, fellow rider and friend Loris Capirossi won the Japanese Grand Prix. What a day for Ducati fans!

Ducati MotoGP Team rider Casey Stoner won at last weekend’s Grand Prix at Misano, taking his fourth pole position in a row and his eighth win of the season. This extends his World Championship lead to 85 pionts, increasing Ducati’s MotoGp Team’s lead in the teams’ championship. The Australian got the holeshot from pole position and after resisting early pressure from runner-up Chris Vermeulen and John Hopkins he extended his advantage to 1.8 seconds at half-distance, after setting a new lap record, and to 4.8 seconds at the chequered flag. Capirossi got a brilliant start from the fifth row to complete the first lap in fifth spot, spending most of the 28 laps battling with Marco Melandri.

Ducati has announced the racing debut of the Hypermotard 1100 S.
After all the “hype” surrounding the launch of the new Ducati Hypermotard, Ducati has finally announced that it will race the machine at the 2007 Parts Canada Road Race Nationals. The Hypermotard was not designed for traditional racing, but is expected to be one of the fastest machines out-of-the-box for sure. Eventually the Hypermotard will be modified for road racing, including a Ducati Performance exhaust that will give it an extra 15HP. Says Motorcyclist Magazine in July 2007: “The Hypermotard upends a century’s worth of tradition and embraces a new future”.
