The 1098 is the first motorcycle to have the amazing stopping power of Brembo Monobloc brakes and the first to have a data acquisition system integrated as standard equipment. It's the first to use the ingenious construction method of the single-sided swingarm. It's also the first to include the direct application of MotoGP technology like the GP6-derived elliptical throttle bodies and instrumentation originally developed for the new Desmosedici GP7.
