Bimotas use engines from Ducati, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki and give them cutting edge chassis, high end suspension and other exclusive components to present unprecedented performance levels. Bimota bicycle names are given their first initial based on the engine, so the DB5 has a Ducati engine base. Bimota motorcycles have proven themselves as race winning machines throughout the years. The name Bimota comes from the first two initials of its three founding members in 1973: Bianchi, Morri and Tamburini.
